Once again, Distribution Technology has been honored as one of Inbound Logistics Top 100 Third-Party Logistics Providers, a recognition our company has received annually for more than a decade.

“Because Distribution Technology empowered logistics and supply chain excellence in 2021 with transformative solutions that drive integration across internal and external business processes, and demonstrated excellence in optimizing transportation and logistics operations, IL editors chose it as a 2021 Top 100 3PL Provider,” said Felecia Stratton, Editor, Inbound Logistics. “Distribution Technology solutions create cost savings and efficiencies across the entire value chain, help solve specific supply chain challenges and improve enterprise-wide processes.”

Distribution Technology and the other honorees will appear in the magazine’s annual 3PL issue in July, which this year has the theme “3PLs Have Your Back.” The Top 100 list represents Inbound Logistics’ effort to track the most respected and effective 3PLs in the field. “When companies put out the call for reliable and innovative supply chain and logistics solutions, these are the partners who save the day,” according to the magazine.

Established in 1969, Distribution Technology operates more than 1,000,000 square feet of distribution center space in the Charlotte Metro region, supports companies in the retail, food and beverage, chemical and manufacturing industries, and operates consolidation centers for national retail giants. We offer rail-served and food-grade facilities as well and provide a full range of third-party logistics and management services to industry, including shared client warehousing, manufacturing support, contract distribution center operations, and transportation management through its fleet of trucks and brokerage division.

Hundreds of companies submitted credentials to be considered for inclusion on the Top 100 list this year. Inbound Logistics’ questions for providers centered on two factors: input from customers seeking a 3PL partnership and specific solutions they require, and the evolution of the types of services that best-in-class 3PLs offer.

The magazine’s 3PL selection team evaluates the data that 3PLs report with an eye toward matching the size, solutions, and culture of a logistics provider to its understanding of what its readers require. The list is based not on the 3PL’s size, but on specialty services and solutions, types of customers, corporate culture and, importantly, flexibility—the ability to help companies solve the challenges unique to their operations.
